Nice job Barry!! The site looks great and will hopefully bring more exposure to Ollie's immense talents as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Sadly, any newcomers who read the excellent Mojo article will find it very difficult to track down Patto's music, now that Sense of the Absurd has gone out of print. For those who are interested, you may still be able to purchase the two disc set from the American mail order company Mod Lang. But I would move quickly and pick it up while you still can. After hundreds of spins, I'm still blown away by Ollie's solos and incredible creativity. I only wish I had been fortunate enough to have seen him play live. Best wishes to all. SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Very best wishes to you Barry and well done with your work on the website. It all spreads the message that Ollie was the best - sublime and supreme

I got to meet Ollie after a show in London with Kevin Ayers.
Talked with him for about half an hour.
A month later he had left us.
Sad loss. Great talent. Nice man.
They cracked the mould when they took him away.

Patto were a totally underated and misunderstood band.
Their great musicianship coupled with humour and loony attitude were qualities rarely found in other groups.
Timebox's Beggin' is one of the great white soul classics and deserves more recognition.
The feature on Patto in Mojo should garner more interest in the band.
Now what we need is the release of a comprehensive 4 CD box set to make Patto's music available to the public again. Rhino records are you reading this?
Last night I listened to Kevin Ayres 'Didn't feel lonely till I thought of you' featuring Ollie's great guitar playing and had to play it again.

I was a friend of Mart Jenner in the 80's and as a leftie myself struck a deal with him for the Dick Knight SG used on the Barbara Dickson videos. I'm just curious about the kind of interest there may be in the guitar. I don't play so much these days, and was only a local player at best.

Hi, saw Patto a couple of times (Peterborough Cloud9 and Spalding !) First time with the vibes ! Cool. Later gig with the Roll Em/Hold your fire material. Me Mum and my brother had all the LPs. Still one of the best live bands and greatest guitarist after Jimi ! Just got myself an Epiphone Les Paul custom in memory of Ollie ! Nice one Admiral for making the live tape available!

I saw them Germany in a little Bavarian town Schweinfurt) in 1969. Absolutely great. Only some 40 people were watching unfortunately but it was one of the greatest bands I have ever seen, specially Olli and the drummer.
Thenaks for keeping up the site.
